Starting Feb. 23, WestJet will add a third weekly flight from Toronto Pearson International Airport to Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport.

The Canadian airline currently offers nonstop seasonal flights — which fly through April 29 — on Saturdays and Sundays between Sarasota and Toronto, the statement says. The third flight will be on Tuesdays, according to a news release.

A low-cost carrier that flies to 90 destinations in more than 20 countries, WestJet began flying out of SRQ Airport last year.

The addition of the third flight is due to “strong demand to and from Toronto,” Rick Piccolo, president and CEO of the Sarasota airport, said in the release. “This is a very busy travel period for the Sarasota-Bradenton area, so we look forward to welcoming the additional WestJet flights and its customers.”
