+ Lady Cougars remain unbeaten
The Cardinal Mooney High girls lacrosse team improved to 4-0 with a 13-7 victory over Tampa Catholic Feb. 28.

Alex Jungers scored four goals, and Bridget Walsh added three goals to lead the way for the Lady Cougars. Haley McCurdy and Caroline Krupa had two goals each, and Lindsay Savigne and Brooke Devine each scored a goal. Goalkeeper Victoria Krupa had 10 saves.

+ Pitcher leads Booker to a win
Freshman Kaytee Sepper allowed one run while striking out 10 to lead the Booker High softball team to a 6-1 victory over The Out-of-Door Academy March 1.

Brandi Thibodeau went 3-for-4 with a triple to power the Lady Tornadoes at the plate.

+ ODA notches a pair of wins
The Out-of-Door Academy baseball team defeated Palmetto 4-1 Feb. 26.

Pitcher Alex Horan allowed just two hits to earn the win for the Thunder. Desmond Lindsay hit a home run, and Carson Jungers and Jimmy Kuebler each had an RBI.

The Thunder cruised to a 12-3 victory over DeSoto County Feb. 28.

Austin Hoppe struck out 13 in the win. Lindsay hit his fifth home run of the season.

+ Thunder LAX posts win
The Out-of-Door Academy boys lacrosse team defeated Sarasota Military Academy 6-4 in its season opener March 1.

Andrew Romano and Jeremy Herrin each had a pair of goals for the Thunder.

+ Totally Tennis series continues
The fifth match of the $25,000 Totally Tennis Exhibition Series will be held at 11 a.m. March 10, at the Payne Park Tennis Center.

Payne Park Tennis Director Sean Rogers and Mick Behr, who is ranked 10th in Florida’s 4.5 division, will face Celsius Academy junior tennis players Zack Burau, 15, and Antoine Sanchez, 13.

+ Youth Baseball Day upcoming
Youth Baseball Day, presented by the Lakewood Ranch Pediatric Unit, will be held Sunday, March 10, at Ed Smith Stadium.

All youth baseball teams that sign up will receive $10 discounted tickets to the Baltimore Orioles game versus the Pittsburgh Pirates. Players also will be able to participate in a pre-game, on-field parade around the warning track. Visit orioles.com/sarasota.
