+ Thunder notches win
The Out-of-Door Academy baseball team defeated Kettering Alter High (Ohio) 9-2 April 3.
Jimmy Kuebler struck out five in the win. Desmond Lindsay hit his eighth home run of the season.

+ Lady Pirates blank Lady Indians
The Braden River High softball team shut out Venice 7-0 in Class 7A-District 11 action April 5.

Courtney Mirabella pitched a complete game, allowing one hit and two walks while striking out 12.

Bethaney Keen went 4-for-5 with two doubles and three runs scored to lead the way for the Lady Pirates at the plate. Kenya Yancy went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored.

+ Cougars win big
Adam Scalisi scored six goals to lead the Cardinal Mooney boys lacrosse team to a 17-2 victory over Tampa Prep in its final district game of the season April 3.

Drew Morgan and Mike Kahl each had three goals and two assists.

Goalkeeper Jimmy Kahl had a shutout in the first half, before backup Chuck Schwaner came on in the second half.

The Sarasota Crew captured its third consecutive Western District Title April 6, at Haney Park in Tampa.
The Crew won 14 district titles to win the overall team title at the 12-team event.
