+ Imagine School wins soccer championship
The Imagine School at Lakewood Ranch middle school soccer team defeated Student Leadership Academy, of Venice, 1-0 to capture the Florida Sun Coast League Championship April 11.

Logan Thomasson scored the lone goal for Imagine.

Daniel Reyna, Tommy Tyson and Travis Butcher also scored goals during the three-game tournament.

+ River Dawgs win local tournament
The 9U Manatee River Dawgs won the Suncoast Travel Ball Bow-Net Championship April 6 and April 7, at Twin Lakes Park in Sarasota.

The second-seed River Dawgs defeated the Sarasota Vipers 7-5 to advance to the championship game, in which they beat Citrus Park 8-0.

Connor Goodson and Ryan Combs combined for the one-hit shutout while striking out eight. Carson Goda, Reed Muchinsky and Huston Wynne each had two hits in the championship game.

The River Dawgs will return to action in the USSSA Mid Florida Championships April 19 and April 20, at Canal Park in Oldsmar.

+ ODA comes up big
The Out-of-Door Academy baseball team defeated Booker 13-4 April 9.

Desmond Lindsay went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. Tyler Dietrich went 2-for-3 with a triple, a double, three stolen bases and three RBIs. Jake Romine added pair of RBIs.

Eighth-grader Brad Jones went four innings for his first win of the season. Jimmy Kuebler pitched the last three scoreless innings.

EMB Wildcat team
The East Manatee Bulldogs Wildcat level team improved to 5-0 with a pair of flag football victories April 13.
The Bulldogs defeated the Hardee Wildcat Blue team 18-14. Cody Staton threw a pair of touchdowns to Chase Tench. Jake Seaman added a touchdown run. Michael Silver had pair of interceptions, and Staton also intercepted a pass.

In Game 2, the Bulldogs beat Hardee Wildcat Orange 16-0. Tench returned an interception 78 yards for a touchdown. Staton had a 10-yard touchdown run and converted a pair of two-point conversions. Tench and Staton both had a pair of interceptions to lead the way defensively.
