Sheriff's office seeks help in robbery case

Manatee County Sheriff's Office detectives are seeking the public's help about a pick-up truck possibly involved the robbery of an elderly woman several weeks ago.

A Manatee County Sheriff's Office report states the 76-year-old victim was robbed while in the parking lot of a Walgreens on the 3100 block of University Parkway on Jan. 19. A woman approached the victim as she left Walgreens, and asked her for directions before snatching the purse off her arm and fleeing.

The suspected vehicle used for the crime is described as an older model Ford F150, black and gray in color with a faded top and a missing tailgate.
