+Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrests bronze statue thief
The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office has arrested Jason McMahon, 40, for stealing bronze lawn statues and selling them for cash.

+School Board initiates audit process
The Manatee County School Board voted Monday night to hire Trenam Kemker to manage an audit of the district's budget.

+Gayler chosen as interim superintendent
The Manatee County School Board will move forward for hiring David Gayler, formerly of Charlotte County schools, as the district's interim superintendent.
