Search suspended for missing boater

The search has been called off for a 20-year-old Cortez man who worked on Longboat Key at the Mar Vista Dockside Restaurant & Pub.

The. U.S. Coast Guard officially called off the search for Michael Taylor on June 11, but members of Taylor’s family and some local fisherman continued to look for White as late as Monday, June 14.

A memorial service for Taylor was planned for June 16 on the bayside of Longboat Pass.
