Search for Sarasota County judge down to seven

The search for the next Sarasota County judge for the 12th Circuit Court is now down to seven names.

The 12th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC) announced last week a short list of qualified applicants to fill the vacancy for the Sarasota County Court judicial vacancy, due to the appointment of Judge Kimberly Carlton Bonner to the Circuit Court.

The seven nominees are:

1. Hunter W. Carroll
2. Peter M. Collins
3. Wyndel G. Darville
4. Gloria Jean DeMedio
5. Erika Nikla Quartermaine
6. Edward Cornell Wilson
7. Laurie Zimmerman

The Commission has until Sept. 24, to give Governor Rick Scott the names of qualified applicants to be considered for the appointment to the Sarasota County Court in the 12th Judicial Circuit. A list of members of the 12th Circuit JNC is also available on The Florida Bar’s website.
