SCORES: Lady Mustangs win 3200-meter relay

The Lakewood Ranch High girls 3200-meter relay team of Natalie Novak, Devin McDermott, Kristin Zarrella and Olivia Ortiz took first place in the event at the FSU Relays March 23 in Tallahassee.

The team crossed the finish line in 9:28.84.

Ortiz and McDermott returned later that evening to compete in the 3200, finishing in 10:40.64 and 10:52.84, respectively.

Zarrella (2:20.11) and Novak (2:20.91) both ran the 800 and teammate Ashley Platt ran the 300 hurdles in 51.22.

On March 24, Evan Dipsiner and Brandon Jones ran the 1600 in 4:43.18 and 4:43.77, respectively. Ortiz finished first in the 1600 in 4:56.55 and McDermott finished seventh in 5:07.20.

The Lady Mustangs also came home with the team runner-up trophy.
