Lakewood Ranch High School will officially have a new principal tonight.

The Manatee County School District will vote at its meeting from 5:45 to 8 p.m., June 10, on whether schools Superintendent Rick Mills' recommendation for the open position at the East County School — Justin Terry — will become the next mustang.

The incoming principal will replace Linda Nesselhauf, whose retirement takes effect June 30.

Cynthia Saunders, executive director of secondary schools, and her interview committee chose Terry, a Texas native, as the best fit for the position, because of his experience as a school administrator, she said.

Other candidates for the Lakewood Ranch High principal position include Scott Cooper, Bayshore High School assistant principal, and Tony Losada, Manatee High School assistant principal.

The School District will hold its meeting at its headquarters, located at 215 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.

The meeting is open to the public.
