School Board sets millage, tentative budget

Members of the Manatee County School Board on Monday night set the maximum total millage at 7.589.
They also approved 3-2 a tentative fiscal year 2012-13 budget of $545,404,285.

Board members directed Superintendent Tim McGonegal and staff to make teacher and employee salaries a priority, and to try to find other monies within the budget to put toward pay increases.

The final budget and millage rates for the 2012-13 fiscal year will be set in the fall.
