Bon Voyage
Six New College students will travel to France to teach English to elementary school students. Elizabeth Crowell, Mar Echevarria, Xavier Keogh, Andrew Kotick, Alejandro Martino and Mariana Zapata were chosen from 1,100 nationwide entries to teach under TAPIF, a French government program. Since 2001, 23 New College students have participated in TAPIF.

The six participants were among the 185 students who graduated with bachelor of arts degrees Friday, May 24.

Record Breakers
The Pine View School for the Gifted Interact Club will host a school-wide event Thursday, May 30, to break the Guinness World Record for “Most Sandwiches Made in an Hour.” Six-hundred Pine View students will attempt to make 5,000 sandwiches, which they will donate to the Salvation Army and other food banks. Students chose to make soy butter and jelly sandwiches after learning about the rise of peanut allergies among children in the United States.
