+ Once upon a time, I tweeted during a show
I am not a fan of people using cell phones or even hearing them vibrate during any performance, but during this week’s Sarasota Orchestra performance, “Once Upon a Time,” I’m making an exception. The orchestra has invited me to sit in the social savvy seats Saturday, Oct. 6, when I will be live tweeting about the multimedia performance. This is much like having a conversation after the performance with friends, but now everyone can weigh-in on the event. Social savvy seats are a special section for those participating, so we are not distracting to other audience members. You can follow me on Twitter @MalloryGnaegy to see what I think. And, please tweet me after the show to let me know what you think!

+ All that jazz
The Jazz Club of Sarasota’s “Jazz at Two” concert series begins Friday, Oct. 5. The series, founded in 2001, showcases regional jazz performers. The program kicks off with “A Tribute to Lillette Jenkins Wisner,” featuring Wisner on vocals and piano at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Sarasota, 3975 Fruitville Road.

Hot Ticket
