Robin DiSabatino this morning announced her candidacy for the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners District 4 seat. Robin DiSabatino is a Republican. The District 4 seat currently is held by Ron Getman.

“I have been inspired and amazed with the warmth, dedication and involvement of the people of Manatee County," she said. "This is a welcoming community where people look out for one another, want the best for their neighbor, and wish to live in peace and harmony with each other and with nature."

DiSabatino is a native of Delaware and is a graduate of the University of Delaware. Upon graduation, DiSabatino worked for Dean Witter and later at Provident Bank as a vice president of a subsidiary of the trust department managing multi-million dollar money market funds and government funds. She earned her real estate license in 1986 and was licensed in Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland.

After moving to Florida in 2003, DiSabatino secured her Florida license and joined with Michael Saunders & Company, where she earned the 2005 Rookie of the Year Award.

“I believe that we must make our county government be accountable and insist that each county department become leaner, work smarter, and do with less," she said. "Each county employee must treat every tax dollar as carefully as if it were his own."

DiSabatino is married to Dr. Robert M. DiSabatino. Robert DiSabatino’s younger sister, Jane DiSabatino Castle, married then-Governor of Delaware Michael N. Castle, at Woodburn, in May 1992. Michael Castle is currently a U.S. congressman from Delaware.
