The Sarasota YMCA has announced the Gulfcoast South Area Health Education Center (GSAHEC) has given them a grant for a three week Health Careers Summer Camp.

The program will be for the Y Achievers program, which targets minority, disadvantaged and at-risk students in Sarasota County. The camp will give youth the opportunity to research and discover health careers. Kids will get to go on health career related field trips and will attend sessions presented by GSAHEC staff on topics like health careers, financial aid and tobacco prevention.

GSAHEC connects students to careers and communities to better health through multiple service programs such as the YMCA’s summer camp. To be eligible students must be current Y Achievers participants. Inquiries about the Y Achievers program should be directed to [email protected].
