Sarasota Yacht Club receives prominent award

Sarasota Yacht Club was the only private club in the Sarasota and Tampa Bay area to receive the Distinguished Emerald Club of the World award. It was one of only seven yacht, beach and lake clubs in the U.S. to receive this honor.

Determined by the annual Distinguished Clubs of the World award program by BoardRoom magazine, the honor is given to clubs that receive a 9.0 or greater Distinguished Clubs score. The top 5 percent of distinguished clubs receive Emerald Club status.

“In presenting this award, BoardRoom magazine praised our Club’s ability to provide an excellent member experience, something that is at the heart of everything we do here,” Bernhard G. Kloppenburg, Sarasota Yacht Club general manager, said in a news release. “Credit for this award goes not only to our board, staff and management, but also to our members who are so actively involved in creating the intangible moments that lead to an unmatched member experience.”
