Voters in the city’s northern-most district will determine who will take the final City Commission seat.

District 1 candidates Willie Shaw and Linda Holland were the top to vote getters in the March election, but because neither one received 50% of the vote, they had to square off again in today’s runoff election.

Shaw received the most votes, 414, in the initial election. Holland got 218.

The polls close today at 7 p.m. at all nine of the precincts in District 1.

The winner will be sworn into office Friday, May 13, along with two other new commissioners, Paul Caragiulo and Shannon Snyder.
