Sarasota County School District administrators are monitoring the progress of Tropical Storm Isaac. Early forecasts had placed the Tampa area in the possible path of the storm; however, recent projections indicate the center of the storm is likely to track further west across the Gulf of Mexico and make landfall between the Florida Panhandle and Louisiana.

The school district has an emergency plan in place and measures will be fully activated if need to be taken to ensure the safety of students and staff.

No school closings or weather-related schedule changes are planned at this time. If the situation changes, the district will send recorded telephone messages, and post notices to the district's website.
