Sarasota Police investigate Rosemary stabbing

The Sarasota Police Department arrested a homeless woman in connection with a stabbing in the Rosemary District after 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 5.

Sheri L. Tolbert, 32, and another homeless woman with a history of fighting began arguing at the intersection of Central Avenue and 9th Street at 6:22 p.m., according to a news release. Officer Ron Dixon pulled Tolbert off of the victim, who suffered cuts on her face and a deep wound on her bicep from a folding box cutter.

Sarasota Police are currently investigating the situation.
