Sarasota Police investigate Orange Avenue shooting

Sarasota Police detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred on the 1900 block of Orange Avenue after 11 p.m. Sunday, April 14.

Officers responded to a report of shot fired and found 22-year-old Tenisha Taylor on the floor of her apartment with gunshot wounds. Taylor told police a man in camouflage and a ski mask appeared from behind a duplex and started shooting. The suspect followed Taylor into her apartment and shot her several times, she said.

Taylor told police the man fled on foot. Anyone with information about the shooting should call Det. Riley at 954-7062.
