Sarasota Police have charged the man wanted for two armed robberies at hotels in September, according to an arrest report.

Detectives have charged 22-year-old Joseph Serrano for robberies at the Golden Host Resort on North Tamiami Trail and the Mariott Residence Inn on University Parkway. In both cases, Serrano assaulted a victim and fled with more than $200.

Police captured Serrano September 25, after hotel employees at Hyatt Place Hotel reported a suspicious man in the lobby. Police noted Serrano matched the description of the suspect from the two previous hotel robberies.

Serrano is charged with two counts of armed robbery with a firearm, one count of aggravated assault with a firearm, and two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
