Sarasota Crew rows to victory

The Sarasota Crew walked away with seven first-place finishes at the Sarasota Crew, Winter Park High and Lake Brantley High Tri-Meet March 31.

The Crew won the Women’s Varsity 8+, Women’s Second Varsity 8+, Women’s Fourth Varsity 8+, Men’s Varsity 8+, Men’s Second Varsity 8+, Men’s Fourth Varsity 8+ and Men’s Fifth Varsity 8+.

“We can use today as a measuring stick for the rest of the season, as we move to the championship races coming in the next few weeks,” men’s coach Liza Dickson said. “Today we competed against two of Florida’s top teams and were able to come away positives on both the men’s and women’s side of things.”

The crew will return to action in the Florida Sprint League Championships April 14 in Tampa and the Florida State Sculling Championships April 15 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota.
