Sarasota County has launched two government accountability websites as part of Sunshine Week.

One of the two sites is oriented toward financial transparency, while the other is on public information.

Both sites can be reached by going to www.scgov.net and clicking on the "Financial Transparency" link or the "Public information" link. The sites can also be visited directly at www.scgov.net/transparency and https://scinternet.scgov.net/email.

The public information site includes easy access to emails sent by county commissioners and links to public records requests.

Sunshine Week was launched in 2002 by the Florida Society of Newspaper Editors as Sunshine Sunday. The week is about the public's right to know what government is doing and why.
