Sarasota County Animal Services removes hundreds of animals from home

After an animal hoarding investigation of a Venice home, Sarasota County Animal Services is in the process of transporting more than 100 dogs and puppies to Animal Services.

Animal Services estimates that there may be approximately 250 animals involved, many of which are not in good condition.

Currently, Animal Services is in the process of medically evaluating, treating and clearing the animals. Area animal-rescue groups are assisting with housing and fostering some of these animals.
