Thursday, March 17
'Challenges to U.S. Leadership in Asia' Lecture
Runs from 2 to 4 p.m. at The First Church, 104 S. Pineapple Ave. Ambassador Christopher Hill will present this seminar on behalf of Sarasota Institute of Lifetime Learning. Tickets are $35. Visit sillsarasota.org.

Friday, March 18 to Sunday, March 27 
Sarasota County Fair
Times vary by day at the Sarasota County Fairgrounds, 3000 Ringling Blvd. The 80th annual Sarasota County Fair will showcase exhibits, Midway rides and local vendors. Parking is free. Admission is $8 for adults; $4 for senior citizens, active military and children ages 6 to 17; free for children under 5. Visit sarasotafair.com. 

Saturday, March 19 
Gardens in Paradise Tour of Gardens
Runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting at the Sarasota Garden Club, 1131 Blvd. of the Arts. Visit private coastal gardens that showcase Florida-friendly gardening, and learn how to cultivate your own personal paradise. Tickets are $35 until Friday at 5 p.m. and $40 day of the tour. Arlington Park Spring Splash
Starts at 10 a.m. at Arlington Park Pool, Waldemere Street. Eggs hunts will be held in the pool as well as activities such as an egg toss, sack races, egg relay races and much more. The Easter bunny will make an appearance. Registration ends March 18. Admission is free for children ages 5 to 16. Call 316-1346

Adult Easter Egg Hunt
Starts at 5 p.m. at the Sarasota Children’s Garden, 1670 10th Way. The Easter egg hunt starts with drinks and appetizers before attendees search for eggs with prizes that include trips and sculptures. Tickets are $45 for members; $50 for nonmembers. Visit sarasotachildrensgarden.com. 

Sunday, March 20
Great American Cleanup
Runs from 8 a.m. to noon at sites throughout Sarasota County. Register to volunteer for the 2016 Great American Cleanup and Keep Sarasota County Beautiful. Participation is free. Call 861-5000.


Friday, March 25 
Trails & Bunny Tails 
Runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sarasota Jungle Gardens, 3701 Bay Shore Road. Bring your basket for an Easter egg hunt and photo-ops with the Easter bunny. Other activities will include face painting, a petting zoo with bunnies and other animals, pony rides and a food tent. Guests who bring two cans of nonperishable food to donate to the Animal Hurricane Relief Fund will receive half off children’s admission. Admission is free for children 3 and under; $10.99 for children 4 to 16, $15.99 for adults; and $14.99 for seniors. Visit sarasotajunglegardens.com. 

Saturday, March 26 
Easter Egg Hunt & Games on Siesta Key
Runs from 9 a.m. to noon at Beach Access No. 5 at Beach Road and Ocean Boulevard. Bring your Easter basket to hunt for eggs in the sand. Each child receives an Easter Bunny or stuffed toy, goody bag and Easter egg stuffed with prizes. This event is for children ages 1 to 6. Registration is $10 per child and limited to the first 125 paid children for the egg hunt. Call 349-2270, Ext 227. 

Big Truck Day and Egg Hunt 
Runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Twin Lakes Park, 6700 Clark Road. All kinds of trucks, firetrucks, dump trucks and more vehicles will be on display for kids to climb into. There will be two Easter egg hunts at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., so bring a basket. Admission is free. Call 861-5000.

Thursday, March 17 
St. Patrick’s Day Celebration 
Starts at 11 a.m. at Lynches Pub & Grub, 19 B Boulevard of the Presidents, St. Armands Circle. The 29th Annual St. Patrick's Day Celebration at Lynches Pub & Grub will feature entertainment featuring Irish stepdancers, bagpipers and music by the Jacobites. There will be food, green beer, hats and free beads. Call 388-5550.

Thursday, March 17 through Saturday, March 20 
Florida Wine Fest & Auction 
Times and locations vary by event. The 26th annual Florida Wine Fest & Auction features boutique wines from across the U.S.. The four-day festival includes events featuring wine, food, live music, dinners, tasting, brunch and auction. Tickets start at $25. Visit floridawinefest.com.
