Salvation Army Christmas kettle stolen

A thief stole a Salvation Army donation kettle containing an undetermined amount of money.

A thief short on holiday spirit made off with a Salvation Army kettle.

The theft happened about 6 p.m., Wednesday, at the Publix supermarket at 3690 Bee Ridge Road.

A Salvation Army bell ringer was standing with the donation kettle when a man grabbed it and ran away with an undetermined amount of money.

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the suspect, described as a white male in his mid-20s. He drove off in a newer model white Nissan Maxima with dark tinted windows.

Anyone with information should call the sheriff’s office at 861-4900 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 366-TIPS (8477).
