During a weekly Sarasota Southside Rotary Club meeting a donation was presented to Community Haven for $3,000.

Community Haven serves adults and children with disabilities in Sarasota and Manatee counties with programs including the Selby School, preschool, transition services, behavior programs and employment services.

“We just received this wonderful gift and the donation is going to be going to our $1.1 million capital campaign to raise funds for a new Haven Industries, an adult day training program,” said Donna McGrath, development director for Community Haven. “We’ve had a relationship with them in the past and they are really stepping up and coming to our aide right now during a critical time when adults with disabilities need those services.”

The Morgan Foundation made the donation possible with assistance from the Sarasota Southside Rotary Club in determining which organization would receive the gift.

“Our rotary club picks out groups that we think the will use the money best. We like to support local services,” said Ruth Jones, Sarasota Southside Rotary Club member. “It’s such a well-run organization and they are very good stewards of the money and the contribution that they make to this community is truly a gift.”
