Longboat Key residents James Armstrong and Robert Smith appear in four YouTube videos posted Oct. 23 challenging recent actions of Longboat Key Code Enforcement.

The videos feature Christine Marfut, whose three-year battle with North Port code enforcement was sent to mediation in September, interviewing Armstrong, who is appealing a $2,117.50 lien that was placed against his property for town administrative costs, along with a $50-a-day fine that has been accumulating since Aug. 7, and Smith, who challenged a repeat violation for excessive grass and weeds at the Oct. 11 Code Enforcement Board meeting.

Armstrong and Smith challenge Code Enforcement’s authority and its $110-per-hour administrative fees for staff time.
