Resident displays Polynesian flair

Anyone who spots Randall LaBolle on his tiki-skirt clad bike can't accuse him of not knowing how to have fun. 

The light lime green bike is embellished with a grass skirt around the rear basket with four hula girls statues swaying with every crack of the pavement he hits. 

“I was gonna put a coconut lampshell on the front,” LaBolle said. 

When he rolls up his sleeve, his appreciation for all things Polynesian is on display with a Tahitian dancer tattoo. He said people often mistake him for Dr. Nik, who has bicycle sculptures throughout Downtown Sarasota. 

“Life’s too short,” LaBolle said. “Why not give someone a smile on my way to work?”

Pup bunks

Sarasota resident Sarah Fulton has started a gofundme page to help collect $3,200 to purchase 80 dog beds for the Humane Society of Sarasota County. The Kuranda beds that they need which cost of $29 per bed plus shipping. The account already has $1,705 with 19 days left for the campaign.
