The Sarasota Tiger Bay Club will welcome Sarasota County Administrator Randall Reid to a Thursday luncheon at Michael’s on East, where he will take questions during the first event not corresponding with the 2012 election season since the beginning of June.

Tiger Bay luncheons are known to be contentious, with political and civic leaders fielding questions from their peers. The recent controversy about the failed road and median mowing contract, which climaxed when a 45-year-old woman was struck and killed by a truck while mowing county-owned grass, will likely be a topic during the event.

What: Sarasota Tiger Bay Club luncheon
When: 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16
Where: Michael’s on East, 1212 East Avenue, Sarasota
Cost: $21 for members, $26 for non-members
