+ Jake Pettingell seals a real estate deal
Pettingell & Son?
Perhaps that’s premature, but Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate broker associate Roger Pettingell gave his son Jake, 9, an early business lesson April 24, during Take Our Sons and Daughters to Work Day.
Jake began the day with a walk-through of a Beachplace unit his dad listed and sold (buyers are Jim and Martha Hildreth), then headed to Kathryn Carr’s office to help oversee the closing. The Pettingell team’s lunch appointment was at the Southeastern Guide Dogs graduation ceremony — so that Jake could learn the importance of giving back.

+ Lido condo sells for $3.97 million
A Ritz-Carlton Beach Residences condominium on Lido Key sold for $3.97 million this week, making it the highest sale for the Beach Residences since 2006, according to Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate.

The Unit 801 condo at 1300 Benjamin Franklin Drive, which represents the fifth-highest condo sale in Sarasota this year, has 4,194 square feet of living area, three-and-a half-baths, two terraces, marble and wood flooring, a gas fireplace and a custom gourmet kitchen.

Judy Kepecz-Hays, of Coldwell Banker’s Longboat Key Previews office, closed the sale.

The buyer was not disclosed. Big Family Holdings LLC, of Bayville, N.J., owned the unit.
