Students at Haile Middle School raised more than $6,000 to further the cause of reading late last month, after the school’s language arts department hosted a fundraiser for the Ethiopia Reads! organization.
Starbucks provided tea and coffee for students, while Smoothie King provided smoothies and Woodland Community Church popped popcorn.
Haile students hoped to raise $1,200 to provide books to children in Ethiopia.
