Ernie Soller isn’t yet sure when he’ll be heading to Scotland, but the trip isn’t one he’s going to pass up.

Soller, a resident of Greenbrook Banks, won a six-night stay at a 10-bedroom private residence in Troon, Scotland, during a raffle drawing at the St. Andrew’s Scottish Festival last weekend. His $5 entry helped Murray International Golf raise $660 for the Payton Wright Foundation, an organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds for pediatric brain cancer.

“Of course I’m excited,” Soller said. “I may take my sons with me. They love golf.”

Soller said he needs to get a few more details about the trip, but he plans to start looking for plane tickets and may make the trip sometime next year.

Murray International owner Cameron Murray said Soller will have to purchase his plane ticket, but most things, including breakfast, transportation, accommodations and golf outings, among others, will be provided.

“We’ve tried to make it as inclusive as possible,” he said.

The St. Andrew’s Scottish Festival was hosted by Karen and Malcolm Ronney, owners of MacAllisters Grill & Tavern on Lakewood Ranch Main Street, with whom Murray has been friends since high school, he said.
