Ranch CERT seeks volunteers

Lakewood Ranch’s Community Emergency Response Team is looking for a few good men — and women.

CERT will hold four training and certification courses throughout the month. The courses will be at 7 p.m., Jan. 13, 8:30 a.m., Jan. 15, and 7 p.m., Jan. 18, at Town Hall, 8175 Lakewood Ranch Blvd.; and at 9 a.m., Jan. 22, at an area fire station (to be determined).

If a disastrous event overwhelms or delays the community’s professional response, CERT members can assist others by applying the basic response and organizational skills that they learned during training.
