Sarasota County and city of Sarasota representatives as well as multiple faith groups were present to commemorate the official opening of the new Quality of Life Center at the Glasser Schoenbaum Human Services Center Thursday morning.

The keyword for the morning was "quality" to keep with the theme for the new Salvation Army homeless intake program.

"A great part of this morning was that we celebrated in community, the quality of community," said Ethan Frizzell, a major with The Salvation Army Sarasota. "We stood firm in our commitment to reflect the quality of this community and the lives of others so that we can increase the quality of life for all."

The more than 80 guests in attendance toured the facility. Frizzell described the building has having a refreshed look. The halls of the center display framed photos of the iconic Sarasota landmarks intended to inspire hope to the people who will benefit from the Quality of Life Center programs.

"It’s all about quality of life, so what we want people to do is to experience the quality of life that reflects the Sarasota community," Frizzell said. "Inviting people to experience the fullness of the community as a whole."
