Publix Super Markets is launching a donation campaign to provide relief to residents of Haiti, who were recently impacted by a 7.0 earthquake.

The grocery store chain has donated $100,000 to the American Red Cross for the cause and also is implementing a donation campaign for its customers, who will be able to donate to relief efforts by adding an amount to their grocery totals when checking out at Publix registers.

“Our customers and associates have trusted Publix to react quickly and help those affected by tragic circumstances,” said Maria Brous, director of media and community relations for Publix. “This devastating disaster to Haiti hits close to home as we have many associates and their families from the island.”
