The application submitted by Publix Super Markets Inc. is complete, according to Town Planner Steve Schield. The Lakeland-based supermarket chain will go before the Longboat Key Planning & Zoning Board Dec. 13.

Publix proposes closing and tearing down its existing store in the spring before constructing a new store, which would re-open in December 2012.

Publix representatives will discuss plans at a Federation of Longboat Key Condominiums meeting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Longboat Harbour condominium clubhouse, 4454 Gulf of Mexico Drive. The meeting is limited to residents of federation members.
