To comply with Florida’s Sunshine Laws, the city of Sarasota has long made e-mail correspondence from city commissioners and charter officials available to the media online.

But now the general public is also being provided online access to those e-mails.

Those interested can go to the city’s website, www.sarasotagov.com and hit “public access e-mail” on the left panel.

The user ID is “srq\publicaccess, and the case-sensitive password is “City-Mail.”

Once there, users will be able to read the emails from all the city commissioners, as well as City Manager Bob Bartolotta, City Attorney Bob Fournier and City Auditor and Clerk Pamela Nadalini.
