Property tax deadline nears

The deadline to qualify for a 4% discount on property taxes is just a week away.

Nov. 30 is the last day to pay Sarasota County property taxes with the discount, and the tax collector’s office said there’s usually a crowd that day.

It offers more options than paying in person.

Property owners can pay online at www.sarasotataxcollector.com; over the phone at 877-729-2001; by mail to Sarasota County Tax Collector, 101 S. Washington Blvd., Sarasota, 34236; or at a drop box in Sarasota at either 101 S. Washington Blvd., 8484 S. Tamiami Trail and in Venice at 4000 S. Tamiami Trail.

To make paying in person easier, the Tax Collectors office will offer drive-thru service from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Nov. 29 and 30, at those same three addresses.
