The Department of Business and Professional Regulation has completed review and closed of a complaint against William “Bill” Sutton, CEO of Progress Community Management in Sarasota.

Charlie Howe, president of the Cypress Strand Condominium Association in Tara, had filed the complaint last year after an auditors report raised questions about how the association’s assets were being handled.

In a letter sent to Lowe, Assistant General Council Elizabeth Henderson wrote the case had been “closed without a finding of probable cause to believe the above named Subject violate” provisions of Florida statute.

Sutton, who told the Observer in March he believed his company has conducted itself ethically all along, said he was pleased with the results.

“It’s very good news for us,” Sutton said. “We’re all very happy it came out in a positive way and we always confident that the results would be (as they are).

We’re looking to move on and get back to normal business practices and do what we do every day.”
