Polls close 7 p.m. tonight

Sarasota and Manatee County polls opened this morning and will close tonight at 7 p.m., check your voter registration card for your polling location. Photo IDs with a signature are required to cast a vote. Check yourobserver.com later tonight for results of the election.

Sarasota County currently has 271,000 registered voters, 120,315 (44.4%) of which are Republican and 85,885 (31.69%) are Democrat. 62,820 (23.18%) have no party affiliation.
