Police recover $104,000 in missing jewelry

Two suspects were allegedly involved in a jewelry theft in the 700 block of Putter Lane that involved stealing multiple pieces of jewelry from a Country Club Shores home since February.

The Longboat Key Police Department was instrumental in arresting two Sarasota suspects May 21 that confessed to stealing $152,000 in jewelry from a Country Club Shores home.

Longboat Key Police Chief Pete Cumming issued a press release May 21 announcing the arrests of William Kenneth Dickey Jr., 37, and Priscilla Zamora, 30, both of Sarasota.

Both suspects were allegedly involved in a jewelry theft in the 700 block of Putter Lane that involved stealing and selling multiple pieces of jewelry from the home since February.

The service worker that became a match for selling the jewelry was Dickey, who is a lawn worker with Abel Lawn Service who also performed odd jobs around the property and had access to the home. Zamora, his girlfriend, also sold some of the jewelry. 

Dickey was charged with grand theft, dealing in stolen property, defrauding a pawn broker and multiple counts of violating probation. 

Zamora was charged with dealing in stolen property and defrauding a pawn broker. Both suspects remain in the Sarasota County Jail.
