Police charge man for home invasion

Early Saturday, Oct. 12, Tomas Arnold committed a crime spree armed with two handguns that included a violent home invasion and robbery at gunpoint, according to a probable cause affadavit.

Sarasota Police used a taser to bring down Arnold, 30, after he fled from officers responding to reports of the robberies.

Victims reported that Arnold, armed with a handgun in each hand, followed them into their home, struck one with a handgun after they gave him a wallet, fired two rounds and fled on foot. Another victim reported that Arnold robbed him a gunpoint near Memories Lounge on the North Trail.

Police have charged Arnold with home invasion robbery with a firearm, aggravated battery, two counts of carrying a concealed firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and violation of probation.
