Pirates hold off Mustangs

The Braden River High softball team held off rival Lakewood Ranch 6-5 in the Class 7A-District 10 semifinals last night. 
Myah Moy hit a pair of home runs, including one in the top of the eighth inning for the go-ahead run. Zaire Yancy added a home run and Linda Ross went 2-for-4. 
Lakewood's Courtney McClellan hit a 2-run pinch-hit home run and Kyra Klarkowski hit a home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game and send it into extra innings. 
Braden River will travel to Sarasota at 7 p.m. Thursday for the district championship.
