A huge bronze bell marks the Gulf of Mexico Drive entrance to Bicentennial Park, on Longboat Key. The bell was donated in 1997 by Rose Mary Bond and was stolen soon after. It was missing for approximately two years. The bell was discovered in a yard in Tampa and returned to the town.
