Paving project almost complete

Beginning Monday, Feb. 21, the Florida Department of Transportation’s hired paving contractor will begin applying permanent striping to the Sarasota County portion of Gulf of Mexico Drive.

The work will be performed in the evening, 7 p.m. and 7 a.m., Mondays through Fridays.

Weather permitting, the striping operation is anticipated to last about two weeks.

The striping operation is the last part of a paving project that removed old asphalt and resurfaced the roadway. The project is expected to be completed in March.
