The final stainless steel section of Patriot Plaza, the ceremonial amphitheatre of Sarasota’s National Cemetery, was lifted into place Friday, Jan. 17.

Construction crews hoisted and placed the 40,000-pound section Friday afternoon; marking the completion of the plaza’s 111,000 stainless steel main structure.

Patriot Plaza is a 1.83-acre ceremonial amphitheatre designed to honor veterans, inspire patriotism and embrace freedom.

The Patterson Foundation fully funds the construction of Patriot Plaza and will donate it to the National Cemetery Administration in June.
