Unofficial Harbourside swan keeper David Novak feared the worst when an English mute swan outfitted with a green band for identification purposes disappeared last week.

Fortunately, this isn’t a time for swan songs.

Novak spotted the cygnet Friday morning, after it apparently came out of hiding while its parents were foraging. The young swan had vanished shortly after undergoing banding and veterinary treatment last weekend.
