Orange Avenue parking lot to close in July

Another downtown parking option will be temporarily closed this summer, as the city prepares to make improvements on the Orange Avenue parking lot.

Located at the corner of Orange Avenue and Second Street, the surface lot has 20 parking spaces. According to a city newsletter, because the area is currently prone to flooding, the Public Works department is aiming to improve drainage in the lot.

The lot will be closed for approximately three weeks beginning July 8. The city recommends that drivers look for parking on-street, at the First Street parking lot or at the Second Street garage, near Whole Foods.

The State Street parking lot, located at State Street and Lemon Avenue, is also closed until next February as city crews work on constructing a five-story parking garage on the site.
