As of Friday afternoon, there is only one applicant for the vacant District 1 seat on the Town Commission.

Randy Clair, who served as At-Large Town Commissioner between 2005 and 2009, has applied for the job.

Clair is a member of the Revitalization Task Force. He was also accepted to serve on the Charter Review Committee by the Town Commission last week.

Commissioners will consider Clair, as well as any additional applicants, for appointment to theTown Commission at a meeting on Monday evening. If desired, the Town Commission can opt to postpone filling the vacancy until the April 17 workshop meeting.

If selected, Clair will fill the vacancy left by former District 1 Commissioner Armando Linde, who resigned on March 21.

If the Town Commission does not fill the vacancy within 30 days of Linde’s resignation, the town must hold a special election for the position.
